Rio has a gay neighborhood, but everyplace is gay friendly or have gay nights. So it is hard to find a gay only bar. Well To Nem Ai is one of the few in Rio that is mostly gay. It has a large outdoor seating. Seemed to be the place to meet all the other tourist.

It is a must stop on a trip to Rio.

This was the only gay bar we could find on the gay street! During carnival the whole street was packed full of guys and girls all dressed up. Atmosphere was amazing, had the Risotto which was really nice, but pricy. Outside of carnival a lot more quite but still ok to start the night with a few drinks.

I went here a couple of times early-mid evening for a drink. It was a good place to have a beer, hang out, people-watch. I did hear those American-English speakers that a previous reviewer had mentioned -- it was just their conversation, not their language, that was annoying! It is an easy, comfortable option but personally, I don't have a problem with that -- I didn't see any better options on this street. Food is ridiculously overpriced so I'd stick to an appetizer if anything.
